MAPK11 (Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase 11), also known as p38β MAP kinase or SAPK2b, is a serine/threonine kinase within the p38 family of stress-activated MAP kinases. It is phosphorylated by the upstream dual-specificity kinases MKK3 and MKK6 in response to pro-inflammatory cytokines, UV exposure, and oxidative stress, propagating signals that modulate inflammation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptotic responses across multiple tissue types.
This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com was raised against human MAPK11 and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry. The reagent ships as a 100 µl liquid aliquot of polyclonal antiserum, suitable for probing endogenous p38β expression in human cell lysates and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Investigators use it to study p38 MAPK pathway activation in models of chronic inflammation, tumor biology, and cellular stress signaling, and it complements other antibodies targeting related p38 isoforms such as MAPK14 (p38α) and MAPK13 (p38δ).
