MAPK1, also called ERK2 or p42 MAP kinase, is a 42 kDa serine/threonine kinase at the core of the Ras-Raf-MEK-ERK signal transduction cascade, conveying growth factor and mitogenic signals into changes in gene expression, cell proliferation, and cell survival. The polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG, ready to be paired with the user's own secondary reagent and detection chemistry. It targets the human MAPK1 protein for read-out in Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry workflows, supporting detection of total ERK2 in cell lysates, fixed tissue sections, and permeabilized cell populations.

Because MAPK1 is broadly expressed across tissues and is a frequent indicator of pathway activity, this reagent is often applied to studies of receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, oncogenic transformation, and the cellular response to cytokines and oxidative stress. The reagent is intended for research use only, is shipped on cold packs to preserve activity, and should be stored refrigerated; preparing small aliquots is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the stock solution.
