Manufactured by Antibodies.com, this Anti-MAP2 polyclonal reagent (catalog A39880) is a rabbit-hosted IgG preparation raised against a synthetic peptide spanning residues 1819–1823 (T-A-A-L-A) of human Microtubule-associated protein 2. Supplied as a 50 µl aliquot at 1.0 mg/mL in PBS (pH 7.4) containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated antiserum has been affinity-purified on an epitope-specific peptide column and detects endogenous total MAP2 across two prominent isoforms (predicted molecular weights of 55–75 kDa for the 2c/2d forms and approximately 280 kDa for the 2a/2b high-molecular-weight species). The antibody is validated for Western blotting at a working dilution of 1:500–1:1000 and for immunofluorescence (ICC/IF) at 1:100–1:200, and it has been confirmed to cross-react with Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, making it suitable for comparative neuronal studies in multiple model systems. For handling, the vial should be shipped cold at 4 °C and then aliquoted and frozen at –20 °C upon arrival, with repeated freeze/thaw cycles avoided to preserve binding activity. Intended strictly for research use, the product is dispatched from St. Louis, MO, and carries the supplier's standard 6–9 business-day lead time.
