Raised in rabbit and purified by antigen-affinity chromatography, this unconjugated IgG polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com selectively recognizes MAP1LC3B (also called LC3B), the lipidated autophagosome-associated isoform that serves as the canonical readout for cellular autophagy. Supplied as a 100 µl liquid in a single vial, the antibody is validated for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on Human, Mouse, and Rat samples, letting laboratories pair it with their own HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondaries for chromogenic or fluorescent detection. On immunoblots, the probe resolves the closely migrating LC3-I (~16 kDa) and LC3-II (~18 kDa) species, so the LC3-II/LC3-I ratio can be used to monitor autophagic flux after treatments such as nutrient starvation, chloroquine, or rapamycin. For immunofluorescence on fixed cells, the same antibody reveals discrete cytoplasmic puncta that mark autophagosomes, supporting quantitative colocalization studies with compartment markers such as LAMP1 or p62/SQSTM1. Store the vial refrigerated at 4°C in the short term or aliquot and freeze at -20°C for longer-term use, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity across multi-experiment campaigns.
