Anti-MAP1LC3A Antibody [Assigned #A11428]

Raised in rabbit as an IgG monoclonal against MAP1LC3A, this Antibodies.com reagent recognizes the LC3A autophagy protein in human, mouse, and rat samples. The unconjugated antibody is supplied as a 50 µl vial in liquid form and is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and immunoprecipitation workflows.

MAP1LC3A is a member of the ATG8 ubiquitin-like family and serves as a key marker for monitoring autophagosome biogenesis: the pro-LC3 precursor is processed to cytosolic LC3A-I and then lipidated with phosphatidylethanolamine to generate the membrane-bound LC3A-II species. Western blot signals near 14 kDa allow quantification of the LC3A-I to LC3A-II conversion as a measure of autophagic flux, often paired with SQSTM1/p62 immunoblotting as a complementary receptor readout.
