The MAP-2 protein (Microtubule-Associated Protein 2) is a cytoskeletal phosphoprotein expressed primarily in neurons, where it stabilizes microtubules in dendrites and plays a key role in neurite outgrowth and synaptic plasticity. Because of its neuron-restricted expression pattern, MAP-2 is one of the most widely used markers for identifying mature neurons and mapping dendritic architecture in neuroscience research.

This unconjugated mouse monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against MAP-2 and has been validated for Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), and Immunoprecipitation (IP) workflows. It cross-reacts with both Human and Mouse MAP-2, making it useful for comparative studies across species in cell culture and tissue models of neuronal differentiation, neurodegeneration, and brain development.

The antibody is supplied as a 100 µL liquid aliquot of purified IgG in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine buffer (pH 7.4) with 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, which allows short-term storage at 4 °C without loss of activity. For longer-term storage, aliquoting and freezing at -20 °C is recommended to preserve binding performance across multiple experiments.
