Anti-MAOA Antibody

Raised in rabbit and affinity-purified against a synthetic peptide centred on residue Pro347 of human monoamine oxidase A, this unconjugated polyclonal primary antibody is supplied by Antibodies.com as a 50 µL liquid formulation at 1 mg/mL in phosphate-buffered saline, pH 7.2, containing 15 mM sodium azide as preservative. Validated for Western blot on endogenous MAOA, the reagent is reactive with human, mouse and rat samples, making it well suited to comparative studies of monoaminergic signalling across species. As a polyclonal reagent the antibody recognises multiple epitopes on the target, which can improve sensitivity in WB applications where denatured linear epitopes are detected. Short-term storage at 4 °C is acceptable, while longer-term stability is achieved by aliquoting and freezing at −20 °C, with care taken to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles that can compromise IgG integrity. The unconjugated presentation allows researchers to couple the antibody to their preferred label (HRP, biotin or fluorophore) according to the demands of their detection chemistry. Polyclonal rabbit IgG is also generally compatible with standard anti-rabbit secondary reagents available in most labs.
