This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against MAGE-C2, a cancer/testis antigen normally confined to spermatogenic germ cells and aberrantly re-expressed across multiple solid tumors, including melanoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, non-small cell lung carcinoma, and triple-negative breast carcinoma. The unconjugated reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.05% sodium azide, in a 100 µl vial format intended for western blot detection in human, mouse, and rat samples.

Because the polyclonal preparation recognizes several epitopes across the MAGE-C2 protein, it is widely used in research settings that probe tumor-associated antigen re-expression, immune recognition, and antigen-specific T-cell responses. The antibody should be kept refrigerated in the dark; for long-term use, aliquot to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. Working dilutions for western blot generally fall between 1:500 and 1:2000 depending on antigen abundance in the lysate. The 0.05% sodium azide preservative is incompatible with HRP-based chemiluminescent detection when carried over in the antibody dilution, so an azide-free preparation or brief buffer exchange is recommended for those workflows.
