This primary antibody from Antibodies.com is a rabbit polyclonal reagent raised against MAGEA9 (MAGE family member A9), a cancer-testis antigen that is normally restricted to testicular tissue but is aberrantly re-expressed in several solid tumours, making it a frequent target in tumour immunology and biomarker discovery studies. The antibody is supplied as an unconjugated antiserum at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide, pH approximately 7.3, and is packaged as a 100 µl aliquot in a vial. It has been validated for Western blot detection of the MAGEA9 protein in human, mouse and rat samples, supporting cross-species experimental workflows such as xenograft tissue lysates, transfected cell line panels, and rodent tumour models that explore MAGE-A reactivation. The polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes on the MAGEA9 antigen, which is helpful when probing expression in samples where post-translational modifications or splice variation may mask individual epitopes, and the unconjugated presentation lets researchers pair it with their own secondary detection reagents — for example HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG — to match the detection chemistry of a given Western blot membrane. The product is intended for research use only and is suited to oncology, immunology and reproductive biology laboratories studying MAGE-A family regulation, promoter demethylation, or cancer-testis antigen expression patterns in normal versus malignant tissue.
