The Antibodies.com polyclonal anti-MAG antibody is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated reagent for neuroscience and neuroimmunology research workflows. MAG (Myelin-Associated Glycoprotein) is a heavily glycosylated transmembrane Ig-like cell adhesion molecule expressed by Schwann cells in the peripheral nervous system and by oligodendrocytes in the central nervous system, where it mediates myelin sheath stability and axon-glia interactions.

Validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse tissue, this reagent is commonly applied to studies of demyelinating disease, peripheral neuropathy, and anti-MAG paraproteinemic neuropathy associated with IgM monoclonal gammopathy. The 100 µl vial size supports multiple staining runs or several immunoblot membranes, and the unconjugated format allows laboratories to pair the antibody with their preferred HRP, biotin, or fluorophore secondary detection system.

As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes across the MAG protein, which can be advantageous when probing denatured lysates or fixed tissue sections. Refrigerate the vial on receipt; for longer-term storage, aliquot and freeze to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody activity. The reagent is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
