This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com targets the MAFF transcription factor (also called Transcription factor MafF or V-maf musculoaponeurotic fibrosarcoma oncogene homolog F), a 17 kDa member of the small Maf family of basic leucine zipper (bZIP) proteins. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl of liquid IgG antiserum in a single vial and is validated for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human and mouse tissue sections. Endogenous MAFF is detected in both species, enabling cross-species comparative studies of stress-induced transcriptional programs.

MAFF functions as a dimerization partner for CNC family regulators, particularly Nrf2, and contributes to activation of antioxidant response element (ARE)-dependent genes during oxidative stress. Researchers using this reagent can therefore probe redox-sensitive gene regulation, and published work has applied MAFF immunostaining to characterize hippocampal MafF induction in Alzheimer's disease tissue, where beta-amyloid-driven oxidative stress selectively elevates MafF expression and reduces GCLC-mediated glutathione synthesis. The polyclonal reagent is also relevant to studies of small Maf involvement in neuronal homeostasis, Nrf2-sMaf heterodimer activity, and MAF-driven oncogenic signaling pathways, with chromogenic IHC detection supported on the validated human and mouse tissue panel.

Shipping is performed at 4 °C; upon arrival, the antiserum should be aliquoted and stored at -20 °C to limit freeze-thaw cycles, with short-term refrigeration acceptable for active working stocks. The polyclonal reagent is intended for research use only, and full validation images together with reactivity data are available on the Antibodies.com product page.
