This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets MAD2L1 (Mitotic Arrest Deficient 2 Like 1), a core component of the mitotic spindle assembly checkpoint (SAC) that monitors kinetochore-microtubule attachment and delays anaphase onset until every chromosome achieves correct bipolar orientation on the spindle. The reagent is validated for Western blotting on human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies of SAC behavior in primary cultures and cancer-derived cell lines.

MAD2L1 detection is widely used in cell cycle, chromosome segregation, and aneuploidy research, including investigations of how checkpoint weakening contributes to chromosomal instability in tumor cells. Researchers also apply this antibody to examine checkpoint regulation during meiosis I and meiosis II in oocytes, where open versus closed spindle configurations remain a major point of comparison across species.

The antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2, in a 50 µl vial. Store refrigerated; for long-term storage, aliquot the preparation to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light to preserve binding activity.
