The M2 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR M2), encoded by the CHRM2 gene, is a key G-protein coupled receptor that mediates parasympathetic signaling, most prominently in cardiac tissue where it modulates heart rate and atrioventricular conduction. Produced by Antibodies.com as a rabbit polyclonal reagent, this unconjugated primary antibody targets an intracellular epitope of the receptor and is reactive with human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows in cardiovascular and neuroscience research.

The antibody is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, and ships as a 100 µl aliquot suitable for multiple experimental runs. The glycerol-containing buffer allows storage at -20 °C without freeze-thaw damage, while the sodium azide preserves sterility for short-term benchtop use. Because the reagent is unconjugated, it pairs cleanly with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-labeled secondary antibodies chosen by the researcher, which is helpful when the same primary is reused across western blot, IHC, and IF protocols with different detection chemistries.

Researchers studying cholinergic signaling, atrial fibrillation models, vagal tone, receptor desensitization, or smooth muscle contractility will benefit from cross-reactivity to three model species, and the polyclonal format increases the chance of detecting the receptor across splice variants and post-translational modifications. The reagent is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
