Anti-LYZ Antibody

This recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets human lysozyme (LYZ), a 14.7 kDa cationic enzyme of the innate immune system that cleaves the β-1,4-glycosidic bond in bacterial peptidoglycan. Secreted by granulocytes, Paneth cells, and glandular epithelium, lysozyme is widely used as a histological marker for myeloid lineage cells and for Paneth cells in intestinal crypts.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied as 100 µl in 1×TBS (pH 7.4) with 1% BSA, 40% glycerol, and 0.05% sodium azide as preservative; aliquot on receipt, avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and store at -20 °C. The reagent has been validated for Western blot, immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse samples.

Common research applications include mapping innate immune cell distribution in tissue sections, investigating antimicrobial defense mechanisms, and characterizing myeloid differentiation in hematopoiesis and tumor microenvironment studies.
