Anti-LYZ Antibody

Lysozyme C (LYZ) is a ~14.7 kDa antimicrobial enzyme of the innate immune system, produced by neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages, and Paneth cells, and secreted into body fluids such as tears, saliva, and breast milk. Because of this tight myeloid association, anti-LYZ antibodies are used in immunohistochemistry to identify granulocytes, histiocytes, and Paneth cells in tissue sections, and in Western blot to follow lysozyme expression in immune, mucosal, and epithelial models of infection and inflammation.

This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, packaged in a 100 µl vial. It is intended for Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows, and it has been tested for reactivity against human, mouse, and rat lysozyme C.

Store the antibody at -20 °C; for working stocks, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the glycerol stock, and avoid use in live-cell buffers without first removing the sodium azide by dialysis or buffer exchange. For research use only.
