Lysophospholipase 1 (LYPLA1), also known as acyl-protein thioesterase 1, is a cytoplasmic enzyme that catalyzes the cleavage of thioester-linked fatty acyl chains from S-acylated cysteine residues on substrate proteins. By driving protein depalmitoylation, this member of the α/β hydrolase superfamily controls the dynamic palmitoylation cycle that regulates membrane association, trafficking, and signaling of many lipid-modified proteins.
From Antibodies.com, this rabbit polyclonal antibody is raised against recombinant LYPLA1 and is supplied as an unconjugated 100 µl vial. The reagent is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and ELISA workflows, and it has been tested for cross-reactivity with human, mouse, and rat samples. It supports research into post-translational lipid modification, G-protein signaling, and neuronal development, where regulated deacylation is a topic of active investigation.
