Liver X Receptor alpha (LXRα, NR1H3) is a ligand-activated nuclear receptor and oxysterol sensor that drives transcription of genes governing reverse cholesterol transport, bile acid synthesis, and hepatic lipid handling. This rabbit polyclonal IgG, supplied by Antibodies.com as an unconjugated 100 µL aliquot, was raised against LXRα and is validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows across human, mouse, and rat samples.
The antibody binds the full-length receptor and is suited to studies of macrophage cholesterol efflux, foam-cell biology, and the LXR–ABCA1/G1/ABCG5/8 axis that links oxysterol signaling to HDL biogenesis. Researchers probing NAFLD, atherosclerosis, and nuclear receptor crosstalk with SREBP-1c and ChREBP commonly use it to track receptor expression in hepatocyte and macrophage lysates.
Provided as a liquid polyclonal in a vial, it is intended for research use only. For handling, store refrigerated; small aliquots may be frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve epitope recognition. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and protect from prolonged exposure to light.
