Anti-LTF Antibody

Produced in rabbit as an unconjugated polyclonal antiserum, this Antibodies.com primary antibody targets human lactoferrin (LTF), the iron-binding transferrin-family glycoprotein best known for sequestering free iron at mucosal surfaces and within the secondary granules of neutrophils.

By stripping iron that pathogens require for growth and by acting directly on microbial membranes, LTF contributes to innate immune defense, so clean detection is valuable in mucosal immunology, infection and barrier research, and tumor tissue workups where lactoferrin expression is being scored.

The reagent is supplied as 100 µL of unconjugated serum sized for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows on human samples, including formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections where iron-handling or neutrophil-rich infiltrates are of interest.

Recommended handling is to store at -20°C in small aliquots to limit freeze-thaw damage to the polyclonal pool, with short-term refrigerated use for active working stocks. Intended for research use only.
