Targeting the human Leukotriene A4 Hydrolase (LTA4H) protein, this unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com supports Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows in inflammatory and oncology research. LTA4H is a bifunctional zinc metalloenzyme of approximately 69 kDa that catalyzes the final step in leukotriene B4 biosynthesis while also displaying aminopeptidase activity, making its expression profile relevant to studies of neutrophil chemotaxis, eicosanoid signaling, and chronic inflammatory disease.

The antibody is supplied as 100 µL of liquid polyclonal antiserum and recognizes multiple epitopes across the target, an advantage when probing denatured lysates or working with archived formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections where epitope masking can compromise monoclonal detection. Validated applications include Western blot on whole-cell and tissue lysates for resolving full-length and truncated variants, immunofluorescence on fixed cells and cryosections for subcellular localization studies (typically cytoplasmic with perinuclear enrichment in many cell types), and immunohistochemistry on FFPE tissue for expression mapping in clinical cohorts.

LTA4H is expressed in neutrophils, monocytes, macrophages, and several epithelial and tumor tissues, where it contributes to inflammatory cascades and has been investigated in the context of asthma, atherosclerosis, and tumor progression. The polyclonal format offers flexibility across these varied sample types and reactivity profiles.

For handling, aliquoting upon arrival and storage at 4 °C for short-term use, with freezing at -20 °C for longer-term storage, helps preserve antibody activity across longitudinal studies. Minimize freeze-thaw cycles to maintain titre. Intended for research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
