Anti-LSM2 Antibody

The polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the LSM2 (LSM2 Homolog, U6 Small Nuclear RNA And M-Body Associated) protein, supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated IgG at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) with 0.05% sodium azide, at approximately pH 7.2. LSM2 is a member of the conserved Lsm (Like-Sm) protein family and functions as a core component of the U6 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (U6 snRNP) complex, where it contributes to the recognition of the 3' terminal uridine tract of U6 snRNA during spliceosome assembly. The same protein also participates in cytoplasmic mRNA turnover through its incorporation into the cytoplasmic Lsm1-7 heptameric ring, which activates decapping and 5'-to-3' exonucleolytic decay of mRNA targets.

Raised in rabbit, this unconjugated primary antibody is validated for western blot application and shows reactivity against human, mouse, and rat samples, supporting comparative studies of pre-mRNA splicing, RNA surveillance pathways, and stress granule biology across standard mammalian model systems. For handling, aliquoting is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and the vial should be protected from light during storage.
