Primary antibody reagent from Antibodies.com, raised in rabbit against human LRAT (Lecithin:Retinol Acyltransferase), a microsomal enzyme that esterifies all-trans-retinol with long-chain fatty acids to form retinyl esters. This enzymatic activity underpins vitamin A metabolism and the visual retinoid cycle in the retinal pigment epithelium, where LRAT loss-of-function variants are linked to Leber congenital amaurosis and additional inherited retinal dystrophies. The polyclonal reagent is unconjugated and supplied as 100 µl of liquid for Western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples. Storage at -20°C in working aliquots is recommended to preserve activity across multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Investigators in retinal biology, retinoid biochemistry, and vitamin A homeostasis in hepatic stellate cells can use this reagent to detect endogenous LRAT protein expression in cell and tissue lysates.
