Lecithin:Retinol Acyltransferase (LRAT) is a membrane-bound acyltransferase that esterifies retinol to retinyl esters, anchoring vitamin A storage and fueling the visual cycle in retinal pigment epithelium and hepatic stellate cells. The Antibodies.com rabbit polyclonal reagent targeting this enzyme is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antibody and is validated for western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence across human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers use it to map LRAT expression in retina, liver, and intestinal mucosa, and to investigate inherited retinopathies including Leber congenital amaurosis and retinitis pigmentosa, where loss-of-function mutations disrupt retinoid recycling. Each vial supports multiple immunoblots and staining experiments, and the unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with custom fluorophores or HRP conjugates. The reagent is intended for research use only, supporting studies of vitamin A homeostasis, hepatic stellate cell activation, and ocular tissue biology.
