Raised in rabbit and antigen-affinity purified as an unconjugated IgG polyclonal, this Antibodies.com reagent targets the lipid phosphate phosphatase-related protein LPPR5 (HGNC-approved symbol PLPPR5, also called PAP2D, PRG5, or PRG-3), a six-transmembrane plasticity-related gene product encoded at chromosomal locus 1p21.3. The antibody recognizes endogenous LPPR5 in human, mouse, and rat samples and is validated for Western blot detection of the approximately 35 kDa multi-pass membrane protein, a size matching the canonical 321-residue isoform catalogued under UniProt accession Q32ZL2.

LPPR5 belongs to the brain-enriched plasticity-related gene family and has been linked to filopodia formation, neurite outgrowth, and resistance to Nogo-A- and lysophosphatidic-acid-mediated axonal retraction in primary neurons, with strongest expression reported in hippocampus, cerebellum, and olfactory bulb. The unconjugated IgG format supplied in a 50 µl vial lets users pair the primary reagent with their own HRP, biotinylated, or fluorescent secondary antibodies to suit chemiluminescence or imaging workflows; aliquoting the working stock preserves activity across repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and brief centrifugation of the vial before opening recovers material from the walls.

Typical workflow: resolve whole-cell or tissue lysates by SDS-PAGE, transfer to nitrocellulose or PVDF, and probe at working dilutions matched to band intensity near the expected 35 kDa region. Store at -20°C. For research use only.
