The monoclonal antibody supplied by Antibodies.com is a mouse host reagent specific for human LP-PLA2, validated for western blot detection of the denatured target and immunohistochemistry localization in formalin-fixed tissue sections. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with user-selected secondary detection reagents, including HRP, biotin, or fluorophore conjugates depending on the experimental design.

LP-PLA2 (lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2), also known as PLA2G7, is a calcium-independent enzyme secreted primarily by inflammatory cells including macrophages and lymphocytes. It circulates bound to LDL particles and hydrolyzes oxidized phospholipids within atherosclerotic lesions, positioning it as a relevant biomarker in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease research.

Packaged as a 100 µl liquid aliquot, the reagent should be stored refrigerated for short-term use. For long-term storage, freeze in single-use aliquots to minimize repeated freeze-thaw cycles and preserve binding activity. Researchers studying vascular inflammation, plaque biology, and inflammatory mechanisms underlying atherosclerosis will find this clone useful for characterizing LP-PLA2 expression across patient-derived tissues and cell-based models.

This reagent is intended for research use only and is not approved for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
