LMX1B (LIM homeodomain transcription factor 1-beta) is a nuclear transcription factor essential for limb patterning, kidney podocyte differentiation, and midbrain dopaminergic neuron specification. Heterozygous loss-of-function variants in LMX1B cause nail-patella syndrome, an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by skeletal, nail, and renal anomalies, which keeps the protein a frequent target in developmental biology, nephrology, and neuroscience research. The Antibodies.com polyclonal reagent is raised in rabbit, isotype IgG, unconjugated, and reactive against human and mouse LMX1B.

Validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC), this primary antibody supports detection of endogenous LMX1B in whole-cell lysates, tissue sections from embryonic or adult mouse models, and human biopsy material. The polyclonal format broadens epitope coverage, which is helpful when probing truncated splice forms or mutant variants linked to nail-patella syndrome. The reagent is supplied as 100 µl and should be stored refrigerated; aliquot upon arrival and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity over the shelf life of the product.

Typical applications include localizing LMX1B in glomerular podocytes, dorsal limb mesenchyme, and dopaminergic progenitors, as well as characterizing CRISPR-edited cell lines and patient-derived tissue samples. Because the antibody is unconjugated, it can be paired with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-labeled secondary reagents to match WB chemiluminescence, IHC chromogenic staining, or immunofluorescence workflows.
