Raised in goat and purified as an IgG fraction, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody recognizes Lipid A, the conserved membrane-anchored portion of Gram-negative bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). The reagent is supplied at 500 µl and is validated for ELISA, immunofluorescence assay (IFA), western blot (WB), and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows. Researchers studying endotoxin biology, sepsis-associated inflammation, TLR4 pathway activation, or microbial surface antigen profiling use Lipid A-specific antibodies to track bacterial outer-membrane components in fixed tissue sections, immunoblots of bacterial lysates, and ELISA-based detection formats. Because Lipid A is the bioactive moiety responsible for the pyrogenic activity of LPS, affinity-purified polyclonal reagents from Antibodies.com give broad epitope coverage useful for detecting multiple Gram-negative bacterial strains and LPS chemotypes in the same experiment. The unconjugated format leaves the antibody free for downstream labeling with reporters of the user's choice, including HRP, biotin, or fluorophore conjugates applied via standard NHS-ester or maleimide chemistries. Store refrigerated in the supplied buffer; aliquot upon first thaw to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect the IgG fraction from degradation. Each preparation is shipped ready to dilute into blocking buffer, assay diluent, or antibody storage solution depending on the downstream platform.
