This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody targets LIMK2 (LIM domain kinase 2), a serine/threonine kinase best known for phosphorylating cofilin at Ser3 to control actin filament turnover. The reagent is supplied at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a stabilizing cryoprotectant, and ships as a 100 µl vial from Antibodies.com.

LIMK2 acts downstream of Rho-family GTPases (RhoA, Rac1, Cdc42) and the PAK and ROCK signaling axes, making it a relevant marker for cytoskeletal remodeling, cell migration, cell-cycle progression, and neuronal differentiation. The antibody has been validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on samples of human, mouse, and rat origin, enabling cross-species studies of LIMK2 expression in normal and tumor tissues, including breast carcinoma and prostate cancer models where LIMK2-driven cofilin regulation has been linked to invasive cell behavior.

As an unconjugated reagent, the antibody is flexible at the bench: pair it with HRP- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary reagents for chemiluminescent WB detection, or with enzyme- or fluorescence-based IHC detection systems. Its polyclonal format provides recognition of multiple epitopes across the LIMK2 protein, which is useful when probing either the LIMK2a or LIMK2b splice isoform. The 50% glycerol formulation protects activity through repeated freeze-thaw cycles, so small working aliquots can be stored at -20 °C and the stock kept refrigerated between uses.
