Raised in rabbit against the NAD+-dependent DNA ligase A (LigA) of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, this polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is offered as an unconjugated IgG preparation for researchers studying mycobacterial DNA replication, nick sealing, and genome maintenance. LigA's adenylation, oligonucleotide/oligosaccharide-binding fold, and zinc finger domains are of structural and functional interest in tuberculosis biology, and the enzyme itself is widely discussed as a candidate target for novel antimicrobials against drug-resistant Mtb strains.

Validated applications include Western blot (WB) for expression profiling across Mtb strains and ligA mutant backgrounds, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on infected tissue sections to localize the enzyme in granulomatous lesions and within cultured macrophages. The polyclonal profile allows recognition of multiple epitopes across the catalytic core, which is useful when probing clinical isolates in which sequence variation is observed between lineages.

Each vial contains 100 µg of affinity-purified antibody, supplied in a buffer suitable for immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry workflows. The reagent is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications. Store at -20 °C in working aliquots to limit freeze-thaw cycles of the stock preparation, and protect from light during prolonged incubation steps.
