The DNA Ligase 1 (LIG1) protein is a nucleus-localized enzyme that catalyzes the formation of phosphodiester bonds during DNA replication and repair, joining Okazaki fragments on the lagging strand and sealing single-strand nicks generated during excision repair pathways. This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com was raised in rabbit and is supplied as an unconjugated antibody in a 100 µl volume for use in western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence detection of human LIG1. Reactivity is specific to human samples, supporting studies of DNA replication fidelity, nucleotide excision repair, and the molecular characterization of cells undergoing DNA damage responses. On SDS-PAGE, the target migrates at an apparent molecular weight of approximately 125 kDa, aiding band identification across western blot experiments.
