Raised in rabbit against the LIM homeodomain transcription factor LHX8, this polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets a protein best characterised in the murine system for its role in molar and incisor morphogenesis and for sustaining the postnatal oocyte pool within the ovarian reserve. LHX8 (formerly designated Lhx7 in mouse nomenclature) carries two N-terminal LIM zinc-finger domains that mediate protein interactions and a C-terminal homeodomain responsible for DNA binding, and loss-of-function studies in mouse models link it directly to tooth agenesis and premature ovarian failure phenotypes.

The unconjugated antibody is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot in a single vial and is validated specifically for Western blot detection of endogenous LHX8 in mouse and rat tissue lysates. A typical workflow involves resolving whole-cell or tissue extracts under denaturing SDS-PAGE conditions, transferring to nitrocellulose or PVDF membrane, and probing at empirically titrated working concentrations against a positive control such as embryonic brain, neonatal ovary, or developing tooth bud homogenate, since LHX8 expression in adult tissue is largely restricted to discrete neuronal populations and the female germline. The reagent is compatible with standard HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit secondary antibodies and chemiluminescent or near-infrared detection systems.

Host species: rabbit. Clonality: polyclonal. Isotype: IgG. Conjugate: unconjugated. Confirmed reactivity: mouse and rat. For research use only; not validated or intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical application in humans.
