This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com targets the beta subunit of luteinizing hormone (LHB), the glycoprotein hormone that drives ovulation and Leydig-cell testosterone production. In the anterior pituitary, gonadotrophs secrete LHB together with a shared alpha subunit (CGA); the resulting heterodimer signals through the G-protein coupled receptor LHCGR in ovarian and testicular tissue.

Validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse samples, the unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl of polyclonal antiserum, giving laboratories flexibility to pair it with HRP, biotin, or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies depending on the assay. Researchers working on reproductive endocrinology, pituitary regulation, gonadotroph differentiation, and disorders such as hypogonadotropic hypogonadism use this reagent to localize LHB in fixed tissue sections and to detect the mature subunit in whole-cell lysates.

LHB is encoded as a 121 amino acid mature peptide on chromosome 19q13.32, and loss-of-function variants in this locus have been associated with infertility phenotypes, making reliable immunological detection valuable for both basic reproductive biology studies and translational work on gonadal axis dysfunction.
