Raised in rabbit against Galectin-1, this unconjugated polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied as a 50 µl vial and recognizes the endogenous ~14 kDa LGALS1 protein (also known as Gal-1 or beta-galactoside-binding lectin) in lysates and tissue sections prepared from human, mouse, and rat samples. Galectin-1 is a secreted β-galactoside-binding lectin implicated in cell adhesion, angiogenesis, T-cell apoptosis, and immune-evasion signaling within the tumor microenvironment, making reliable detection relevant to cancer-immunology, inflammation, and fibrosis research.

Validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows, the antibody supports studies of LGALS1 expression in tumor and stromal compartments, where Gal-1 cross-links glycosylated receptors such as CD7, CD43, CD45, and several integrins to modulate immune-cell fate. For best preservation of binding activity across multiple experiments, aliquot the 50 µl preparation and store at -20 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The IgG is provided in a standard buffered formulation, and the polyclonal pool broadens recognition of epitopes across the 135-amino-acid human protein (UniProt P09382) for both denatured Western blot membranes and fixed tissue sections.
