Anti-Leu-1/CD5 Antibody

This polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is raised in rabbit against the Leu-1/CD5 cell-surface antigen, a 67 kDa type-I transmembrane glycoprotein of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich superfamily. The antibody is supplied as 100 µl of a 1 mg/ml stock prepared in PBS with 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, and is unconjugated so it can be paired with secondary detection reagents of choice in Western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows.

Validated on human, mouse, and rat samples, it supports lymphocyte phenotyping in lymphoid tissue and peripheral blood, and is commonly referenced in studies of T-cell receptor signaling, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, mantle cell lymphoma, and T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, where CD5 functions as both a lineage marker and a negative regulator of TCR activation through SHP-1 phosphatase recruitment.
