Anti-LETM1 Antibody

Raised in rabbit and purified as a polyclonal IgG, this unconjugated primary antibody from Antibodies.com binds human LETM1, the leucine zipper-EF-hand containing transmembrane protein 1 that resides in the inner mitochondrial membrane. LETM1 is best known as a mitochondrial Ca²⁺/H⁺ antiporter involved in mitochondrial ion and volume homeostasis, and it has been linked to mitochondrial cristae organization and mtDNA nucleoid distribution. Because the LETM1 gene sits within the Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome critical region on chromosome 4p16.3, heterozygotes carrying a 4p deletion show seizure phenotypes that have been investigated using antibodies of this kind. The reagent is supplied in a 200 µl vial, unconjugated, and is validated for Western blot detection of human LETM1, making it suitable for work on mitochondrial morphology, respiratory chain function, and the molecular consequences of LETM1 loss of function in cultured human cells.
