This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets human LECT1 (Leukocyte Cell-Derived Chemotaxin 1), a cartilage-restricted glycoprotein also known as Chondromodulin-1 that supports chondrocyte proliferation and acts as an endogenous angiogenesis inhibitor. Produced and qualified by Antibodies.com, the reagent is supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum raised in rabbit and validated for Western blot (WB) and immunofluorescence (IF) on human-derived samples and tissue sections.

LECT1 expression is most prominent in avascular cartilage, cardiac valves, and the intervertebral disc, and loss or downregulation of this factor has been investigated in osteosarcoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and multiple myeloma, where reduced LECT1 levels have been linked to neovascularization and tumor progression. Researchers studying cartilage biology, endochondral ossification, or tumor angiogenesis use anti-LECT1 antibodies to probe protein-level expression in cell lysates by WB and to localize LECT1 within fixed tissue by IF imaging.

The antibody is provided in liquid format in a vial and should be handled as a temperature-sensitive reagent: refrigerate on receipt for short-term use, aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles, and freeze for longer-term storage. As an unconjugated polyclonal reagent it is compatible with standard secondary antibody detection systems, allowing end users to pair it with HRP- or fluorophore-labeled anti-rabbit secondaries of their choice.
