Raised in rabbit and supplied by Antibodies.com, this unconjugated polyclonal antibody recognizes LDLRAP1 (Low Density Lipoprotein Receptor Adaptor Protein 1), the cytoplasmic adaptor also called ARH that couples the LDL receptor to clathrin-mediated endocytosis. The reagent is formulated at 1 mg/ml in PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide and 50% Glycerol, and is shipped as a 100 µl vial ready for use in western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence workflows.

LDLRAP1 operates at the inner face of the plasma membrane, where its phosphotyrosine-binding domain engages the NPxY motif of the LDL receptor and recruits it into clathrin-coated pits. Biallelic loss-of-function mutations in the LDLRAP1 gene cause autosomal recessive hypercholesterolemia, marked by elevated circulating LDL cholesterol, tendon xanthomas, and early-onset cardiovascular disease. The antibody is validated for human reactivity and is therefore a useful probe for studies of hepatic LDL clearance, receptor recycling, and the cellular handling of apolipoprotein B-containing lipoproteins.

Because the buffer contains 50% glycerol, the antibody can be stored at -20°C protected from light without freezing solid, with aliquoting upon receipt recommended to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. Researchers in cardiovascular and metabolic disease, hepatology, and cellular cholesterol biology will find this a focused reagent for characterizing receptor trafficking and adaptor protein function.
