Lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT) is a 416-residue plasma enzyme secreted by the liver that drives HDL maturation by esterifying cholesterol on nascent lipoprotein particles, making this polyclonal reagent a focused probe for studies of reverse cholesterol transport and high-density lipoprotein metabolism. Raised in rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated IgG preparation, this Primary Antibodies reagent detects the human, mouse, and rat LCAT protein in Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry workflows, supporting investigations into familial LCAT deficiency, fish-eye disease, and atherosclerosis-related lipid handling. Each Antibodies.com vial provides 50 µl of polyclonal antiserum suitable for chromogenic and immunoblot detection of the around 67 kDa LCAT polypeptide across hepatic tissue sections and cultured cell lysates.
