This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com specifically recognizes LAMP3 (Lysosomal Associated Membrane Protein 3), a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the LAMP family of lysosome-associated proteins. The reagent is supplied as a 100 µl aliquot of unconjugated antiserum intended for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflows on human samples.

LAMP3, also referred to as DC-LAMP or TSC403, is most prominently expressed in mature dendritic cells, where it accumulates in MHC class II compartments and contributes to antigen processing and presentation. The protein is also abundant in alveolar type II pneumocytes of the lung, where it has been linked to surfactant homeostasis and the regulation of autophagy under oxidative stress. Elevated LAMP3 expression has been reported in lung adenocarcinoma, breast carcinoma, and colorectal tumors, and it has been investigated as a candidate prognostic biomarker and as a marker associated with tumor cell migration and invasion.

Typical uses of this polyclonal reagent include tracking dendritic cell maturation in immunological studies, profiling LAMP3 levels in tumor biopsy sections by IHC, and detecting the endogenous protein in cultured cell lysates by Western blot. The unconjugated format allows flexible pairing with enzyme- or fluorophore-conjugated secondary antibodies, making the antibody adaptable to chromogenic staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue as well as standard immunoblotting protocols. Researchers working on pulmonary biology, tumor immunology, antigen presentation, or autophagy will find this antibody directly applicable to their experimental design.
