Raised in rabbit against a synthetic peptide corresponding to the region surrounding threonine 1385 of human laminin γ-3, this polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com detects the gamma-3 subunit of laminin (LAMC3), a basement membrane glycoprotein that contributes to the structural organization of epithelial and neural matrices. The unconjugated reagent is supplied as 100 µl at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (approximately pH 7.2) with 0.05% sodium azide as a preservative, and is validated for western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows against human, mouse, and rat samples.
Laminin γ-3 is expressed in selective epithelial basement membranes and has been studied in early developmental contexts, neural tissue organization, and epithelial tumor biology, where altered laminin composition has been linked to changes in cell adhesion and migration. Researchers use this reagent to follow LAMC3 distribution in tissue sections by IHC and to monitor its expression across sample cohorts by WB, supporting studies in cell-matrix interactions, glomerular and tubular biology, and reproductive tissue research. The polyclonal format recognizes multiple epitopes on the target, which can be advantageous when probing denatured lysates or fixed specimens where single-epitope reagents sometimes perform poorly.
Handling recommendations: aliquot the vial upon first use to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, store refrigerated for short-term use, and reserve frozen aliquots at -20°C for longer-term archival. Protect from light and minimize the time the vial spends at elevated temperatures to preserve activity. The product is supplied for research use only as an unconjugated primary antibody suitable for downstream detection with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-conjugated secondaries chosen by the end user.
