Raised in rabbit against the human Lamin B1 nuclear envelope protein, this unconjugated polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com supports western blot and immunohistochemistry workflows where a clean nuclear marker is needed. Lamin B1 is a type V intermediate filament of the inner nuclear membrane that helps maintain nuclear architecture and is widely used as a loading reference for nuclear and whole-cell extracts, particularly when subcellular fractionation is being verified.
Validated for human samples and supplied as 100 µl of antiserum, the antibody detects the ~66 kDa Lamin B1 band in western blot and produces nuclear staining patterns in IHC on formalin-fixed tissue. Because B-type lamins remain associated with nuclear envelopes throughout the cell cycle, the reagent is also useful for nuclear morphology and cell-division studies, including investigations of LMNB1 duplication-associated adult-onset leukodystrophy and probes of nuclear envelope reassembly after mitosis.
