This rabbit polyclonal primary antibody from Antibodies.com recognizes Lamin A and Lamin C, the two major A-type nuclear lamins produced from the LMNA gene by alternative splicing. These ~70 kDa and ~60 kDa intermediate filament proteins form the meshwork of the nuclear lamina underlying the inner nuclear membrane and serve as widely used markers of nuclear envelope integrity in cell biology, stem-cell, and tissue research. Mutations in LMNA underlie a spectrum of laminopathies — Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome, Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy, and familial dilated cardiomyopathy — making robust detection of Lamin A / C relevant to studies of nuclear architecture, chromatin organization, and cellular ageing.

Supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated rabbit antiserum, the reagent is validated for Western blot (WB) and immunohistochemistry (IHC) on human samples. In WB it produces the characteristic A/C doublet near 70 and 60 kDa, while in IHC it yields the expected peripheral nuclear-rim staining in cultured cells and paraffin tissue sections. The unconjugated format enables flexible pairing with HRP, alkaline phosphatase, or fluorophore-conjugated secondaries across chromogenic, immunofluorescence, and proximity ligation workflows. Store refrigerated at 4 °C; aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. For research use only.
