Affinity-purified mouse monoclonal reagent raised against human LMNA gene products, recognising both Lamin A (approximately 74 kDa) and Lamin C (approximately 65 kDa), the nuclear intermediate filament proteins encoded by the LMNA gene through alternative splicing. Supplied by Antibodies.com as 50 µl of purified immunoglobulin in 0.1 M Tris-Glycine buffer at pH 7.4, containing 150 mM NaCl, 0.2% sodium azide, and 50% glycerol, the unconjugated antibody is packaged in a single vial and validated for western blot and immunofluorescence workflows on human samples.

Lamin A/C staining is the standard reference for nuclear envelope integrity in cell biology, and the 5D12 clone is routinely used to monitor nuclear morphology in cultured cells, track differentiation-related remodelling in stem cell workflows, and outline the nuclear rim by immunofluorescence. In western blot, the reagent resolves full-length lamins alongside the approximately 28 kDa fragment generated by caspase-6 cleavage during apoptosis.

Research applications extend to laminopathy disease models, including progerin accumulation studies in Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome, LMNA mutation-driven dilated cardiomyopathy and familial partial lipodystrophy, and oncology workflows examining lamin dysregulation in tumour cells.
