Polyclonal antibody raised in rabbit against Lamin A, the nuclear intermediate filament protein encoded by the LMNA gene and a widely used marker of nuclear envelope integrity in mammalian cells. Supplied by Antibodies.com as a 100 µL liquid at 1 mg/mL in PBS containing 0.1% sodium azide and 50% glycerol as a cryoprotectant, this unconjugated reagent is validated for Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence applications across human, mouse, and rat samples. Researchers commonly deploy this reagent to probe nuclear architecture, study LMNA mutations associated with laminopathies such as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome and Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy, and confirm subcellular fractionation of nuclear versus cytoplasmic compartments. On Western blots the antibody detects the characteristic ~70 kDa Lamin A band, while immunofluorescence labeling produces the expected perinuclear rim staining pattern around the nucleus. Aliquot upon first use to limit freeze-thaw cycles and store refrigerated short term; the 50% glycerol formulation allows stable storage at -20°C for extended periods without loss of activity.
