Kv7.4 (KCNQ4) is a voltage-gated potassium channel expressed in cochlear outer hair cells and in defined neuronal populations, where it supports potassium efflux, auditory sensory transduction, and the regulation of membrane excitability. This unconjugated rabbit polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com is supplied at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline with 0.05% sodium azide at approximately pH 7.2, and is intended for Western blot detection of the channel in human, mouse, and rat samples. The 100 µl vial provides enough material for routine membrane and cytosolic fraction analysis, and the polyclonal format allows recognition of multiple epitopes on the KCNQ4 subunit for improved signal in heterologous expression systems as well as in endogenous tissue lysates. Investigators working on sensorineural hearing loss, DFNA2 deafness, and neuronal firing patterns use this reagent to probe Kv7.4 trafficking, surface expression, and modulation by small molecules or associated KCNE subunits.
