The Kv3.1 voltage-gated potassium channel, encoded by the KCNC1 gene, plays a central role in rapid neuronal repolarization and high-frequency firing within fast-spiking interneurons of the central nervous system. This rabbit polyclonal antibody from Antibodies.com is raised against the Kv3.1 target and is validated for western blot detection in human, mouse, and rat samples.

The reagent is supplied as an unconjugated polyclonal preparation at 1 mg/ml in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.05% sodium azide, adjusted to approximately pH 7.2, and is provided as a 100 µl vial volume. The polyclonal format enables recognition of multiple epitopes on the channel subunit, supporting work with post-translationally modified or truncated Kv3.1 variants.

Typical research uses include probing channel expression in brain lysates, primary neuronal cultures, and heterologous expression systems, with relevance to studies of epilepsy, ataxia, paroxysmal movement disorders, and inhibitory circuit function. For handling, refrigerate the vial upon arrival, protect from light, and aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles during long-term storage.
