Produced in rabbit as a polyclonal preparation and supplied as 100 µl of unconjugated antiserum, this Antibodies.com reagent targets the voltage-gated potassium channel subunit KV1.1 encoded by the KCNA1 gene. It is validated for Western blot and ELISA workflows and detects the channel in human, mouse, and rat samples.

KV1.1 contributes to action potential repolarization and the regulation of neuronal excitability across the central nervous system, including hippocampal interneurons, cerebellar basket cells, and brainstem nuclei. The channel is also detected in peripheral nerve Schwann cells. Researchers apply this reagent to map channel distribution, investigate channelopathies such as episodic ataxia type 1 linked to KCNA1 mutations, and study the molecular basis of synaptic inhibition in cortical circuits.

As a polyclonal reagent, the antibody recognizes multiple epitopes on the KV1.1 subunit, supporting reliable signal in heterologous expression systems and endogenous tissue lysates. Aliquot upon receipt and store refrigerated to preserve reagent stability across repeated experiments.
