This rabbit-derived polyclonal reagent from Antibodies.com targets the 70 kDa DNA repair subunit of the Ku heterodimer, a core component of the non-homologous end joining (NHEJ) pathway in human cells. Raised in Rabbit and supplied as an unconjugated preparation at a 100 µl size, the antibody is validated for Western blot and ELISA applications and shows reactivity with human Ku70.

Ku70 partners with Ku80 to form a ring-shaped complex that encircles DNA ends at double-strand breaks, recruiting and activating DNA-PKcs to initiate repair. Beyond its canonical role in NHEJ, the heterodimer contributes to V(D)J recombination in developing lymphocytes, telomere length maintenance, and suppression of alternative end-joining pathways. Aberrant Ku70 expression has been reported in multiple tumor types and in autoimmune settings such as anti-Ku autoimmunity associated with overlap myositis/scleroderma syndromes.

Provided as a polyclonal antibody preparation, the reagent is suited to immunoblotting of whole-cell lysates, ELISA-based quantification of Ku70 levels, and supporting studies in DNA damage response research, cancer biology, and autoimmunity. Researchers commonly pair it with Ku80 and DNA-PKcs markers to profile the NHEJ machinery or assess DNA repair capacity in patient-derived material and cultured cell line panels.
