Keratin 4 (KRT4) is a type II cytokeratin expressed in differentiated, non-keratinizing stratified squamous epithelia including the oral mucosa, esophageal lining, and corneal epithelium. Raised in rabbit as a polyclonal reagent by Antibodies.com, this unconjugated primary antibody recognizes the endogenous KRT4 protein and is validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry across human, mouse, and rat samples.
Mutations in KRT4 are linked to white sponge nevus, a benign autosomal dominant mucosal disorder, which makes this reagent useful for studies of epithelial differentiation, mucosal pathology, and keratin intermediate filament biology. The unconjugated format gives researchers flexibility to pair the antibody with secondary detection reagents of their choice, and the 100 µL volume suits both routine immunoblotting and exploratory IHC work on tissue sections. Storage recommendation: refrigerate; protect from light; aliquot to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
