This rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent from Antibodies.com targets Keratin 23, a type I acidic intermediate filament protein encoded in the chromosome 17q12-q21 cluster. The antibody is affinity purified using a recombinant human KRT23 immunogen and is validated for Western blot (recommended 1:500-1:2000) and immunohistochemistry (1:50-1:100) on human and mouse samples, producing a band of approximately 48 kDa. Each 50 µl vial of unconjugated antibody is supplied in a PBS/glycerol buffer suitable for direct use in standard immunodetection workflows.

KRT23 is expressed in simple and glandular epithelia and shows elevated levels in colorectal, hepatocellular, pancreatic, and gastric tumors, where the protein has been linked to hTERT transactivation, cancer cell proliferation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and chemoresistance. Published studies have used KRT23-specific probes to demonstrate promoter hypomethylation in colon adenocarcinomas, restored radiosensitivity after KRT23 knockdown, and a MYC-amplified, PPARA-dependent role in hepatocellular carcinoma. These features make the antibody a useful tool for studying keratin biology, tumor biomarker validation, and chromatin-associated signaling in epithelial cancer models.

For handling, refrigerate the vial short term at 4°C and store at -20°C for longer periods; aliquot to limit freeze-thaw cycles and protect from light. The product is intended for research use only and is not validated for diagnostic or therapeutic applications.
