Keratin 14 (KRT14) is a type I intermediate filament protein expressed in basal keratinocytes of stratified epithelia and in basal/myoepithelial cells of glandular tissues. The rabbit polyclonal IgG reagent supplied by Antibodies.com comes as a 100 µl volume of unconjugated antibody validated for Western blot and immunohistochemistry on human and mouse samples. KRT14 serves as a marker of basal epithelial identity and is central to research on epidermal differentiation, wound healing, and keratinopathies such as epidermolysis bullosa simplex, a blistering disorder caused by mutations in KRT14 or its heterodimer partner KRT5. Studies of epithelial–mesenchymal interactions, mammary gland biology, and oral or esophageal mucosa also rely on KRT14 detection. The polyclonal format offers broader epitope coverage than monoclonal alternatives, and the unconjugated state permits flexible pairing with HRP-, biotin-, or fluorophore-labeled secondary antibodies. For short-term use, aliquot and store refrigerated; avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles to preserve binding activity.
